Congratulations to Vina Robles for taking home Double Gold at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition for their 2014 Sauvignon Blanc!
In case you may have missed it, the award-winners from the noted San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition have been announced. This is the largest judging of American wines in the world and this year’s event was record-breaking with some 7,164 wines entered from 28 states. This is a significant jump from 2015 when there were 6,417 entries. That’s a lot of wine!
With all the competition, taking top honors is very significant and is no small feat. Our friends at Vina Robles, located in the Paso Robles region of California, accomplished this with their terrific 2014 Vina Robles Sauvignon Blanc Paso Robles. They took home Double Gold in the $15 to $18.99 price point category. This is one of the most important categories for the varietal as many top-quality bottles fall into this price point.
Vina Robles was one of only three Double Golds awarded. This indicates a unanimous judgement of gold from each individual judge. Congratulations to Vina Robles!
